How does a bimetal thermostat work ?
Le thermostat bimétallique se compose de deux bandes métalliques, généralement en fer et nickel, soudées ensemble. Chacun des métaux a un coefficient de dilatation différent, ce qui signifie qu’ils se dilatent et se contractent à des amplitudes différents en fonction de la température. Cette différence de dilatation provoque la courbure de la bande métallique, qui agit directement sur un contact électrique en ouvrant ou fermant un circuit.
